The Avernoza® Trace Smart Hydration Bowl combines a quiet still-water experience with discreet hydration monitoring.

Precision load sensors beneath the ceramic bowl measure stable changes in water weight. When the system detects that a drinking session has taken place, Trace records the time and estimated amount consumed.

The information is organized inside the Avernoza app, allowing owners to review daily and weekly drinking patterns without placing a camera beside the bowl.

Unlike a smart fountain, Trace contains no pump, circulation channel or filter. Cats drink from a familiar, wide ceramic surface while the technology remains concealed beneath the bowl.

Its long, low Deep Sage aluminum platform provides a stable weighing surface. A narrow smoked status panel uses three discreet indicator lights to communicate charging, connection and measurement status without introducing a bright household display.

The Warm Ivory ceramic bowl removes independently for filling and cleaning.

The Avernoza crest appears once on the front of the platform. It is stamped directly into the metal before the powder-coated finish is applied, creating a permanent same-material bas-relief.

HOW TRACE MEASURES DRINKING

Trace establishes a stable water-weight reading after the bowl has been filled and returned to the platform.

When the system detects movement around the bowl, it temporarily pauses calculation until the surface becomes stable again. It then compares the water weight before and after the event.

This difference is used to estimate the amount removed during the drinking session.

The system is intended to identify patterns rather than provide laboratory measurements. Small amounts of evaporation, splashing, refilling, cleaning or movement of the bowl can affect the estimate.

For the most consistent readings:

• Keep Trace on a hard, stable and level floor

• Avoid thick rugs or uneven surfaces

• Do not place objects against the platform

• Return the bowl to the same recessed position

• Recalibrate after removing or replacing the bowl

• Record manual water changes through the app when prompted

HYDRATION TREND MONITORING

The Avernoza app can organize recorded activity into a straightforward hydration history.

Planned app functions include:

DESIGNED FOR STILL-WATER DRINKERS

Some cats prefer still water and may avoid pumps, vibration or continuously moving water.

Trace retains the simplicity of a conventional water bowl. There is no circulating mechanism beneath the water and no motor running while the cat drinks.

The wide Warm Ivory ceramic bowl presents an open water surface with smooth rounded walls and generous space around the face.

Because the bowl contains no permanently attached electronic components, it can be removed completely for daily washing.

DISCREET SMART PLATFORM

The precision sensors, battery and communication hardware are enclosed inside a low-profile Deep Sage aluminum platform.

The extended side section keeps the electronics away from the center of the water bowl while creating a recognizable horizontal product silhouette.

Three small indicators communicate essential status without displaying personal data:

The indicators remain dim during normal use and should not flash continuously beside the cat.

RECHARGEABLE CORDLESS OPERATION

Trace is designed to charge through a rear USB-C connection and operate without a visible cable after charging.

Local memory allows drinking events to remain temporarily stored if the home connection becomes unavailable. Recorded information synchronizes after the connection returns.

Final battery duration will depend on sensor sampling, wireless conditions, notification settings and battery capacity.

Any published runtime must be confirmed using production hardware under normal household testing.

MULTI-CAT INFORMATION

Trace does not identify individual cats.

In a multi-cat household, the recorded total may include water consumed by every cat using the bowl. For individual monitoring, a separate bowl would need to be placed in an area accessed by only one cat.

Trace should not be advertised as RFID- or microchip-compatible unless that capability is added and fully verified in the production version.

MATERIALS AND DESIGN

The platform is constructed from powder-coated aluminum in Avernoza Deep Sage. Its rounded edges and low height allow it to sit naturally beside furniture.

The bowl is made from weighted Warm Ivory glazed stoneware.

A narrow smoked panel contains the three status indicators, while controls and the USB-C connection are positioned away from the main front surface.

The Avernoza crest is mechanically stamped into the metal body and covered by the same Deep Sage finish. It is not printed, glued or attached as a separate decorative badge.

SETUP

1. Charge Trace completely before initial setup.
2. Position the platform on a hard, dry and level surface.
3. Download the Avernoza app.
4. Follow the Bluetooth-assisted pairing process.
5. Connect Trace to a compatible 2.4 GHz home network.
6. Wash and completely dry the ceramic bowl.
7. Place the empty bowl inside the platform recess.
8. Run the empty-bowl calibration.
9. Add fresh drinking water.
10. Allow the platform to establish a stable starting weight.
11. Monitor the first several drinking events to confirm that the bowl remains stable.
12. Set preferred refill, cleaning and trend-notification options.

DAILY USE

Keep the ceramic bowl correctly seated inside the platform.

Replace the drinking water regularly, even if the app does not indicate that the bowl is empty.

When adding or replacing water, wait for the platform to complete its new stable reading.

Do not lean objects against the base or place food bowls on the extended sensor platform.

Recharge the device when the battery indicator appears.

Always keep another source of drinking water available while Trace is charging, being cleaned or temporarily unavailable.

CLEANING AND CARE

Remove the ceramic bowl before cleaning.

Wash the bowl with warm water, mild detergent and a soft sponge.

Confirm dishwasher compatibility on the final production packaging.

Wipe the aluminum platform with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Do not immerse the sensor base, status panel, charging connection or internal electronics.

Do not spray water directly into the bowl recess.

Dry the ceramic bowl and platform recess completely before reassembly.

Do not use abrasive pads, metal brushes or harsh chemical cleaners.

Do not lift or carry the complete device by the ceramic bowl.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Recorded changes can be affected by evaporation, spills, refilling, cleaning, movement and use by other pets.

An alert does not confirm a medical condition, and the absence of an alert does not confirm that a cat is healthy.

Consult a qualified veterinarian if a cat begins drinking substantially more or less than usual or shows changes in appetite, urination, energy or behavior.

Trace should be used indoors on a dry surface.

Stop using and disconnect the device if the platform, battery, charging port or housing becomes damaged or wet internally.
