Cooler Water, Without the Machine

The Avernoza® Dew Passive-Cooling Ceramic Bowl is designed for cats that prefer still water and for homes where a powered fountain is unnecessary.

Its removable Warm Ivory ceramic bowl rests above a reusable cooling cartridge concealed inside the Deep Sage stoneware pedestal. Once chilled and placed inside the dedicated drawer, the cartridge helps slow the rate at which drinking water warms.

Dew does not circulate, refrigerate or mechanically alter the water. There is no motor, pump, cable, battery or replaceable filter.

The result is a simple still-water bowl with a more considered approach to temperature, materials and daily maintenance.

The broad, shallow ceramic interior gives cats open access to the water surface and additional space around the whiskers. The low pedestal raises the drinking surface slightly while maintaining a grounded, stable profile.

The Avernoza crest appears once on the front of the base. It is molded directly into the Deep Sage stoneware as a permanent monochrome bas-relief rather than a printed graphic or attached badge.

HOW PASSIVE COOLING WORKS

The reusable cartridge contains a sealed phase-change cooling medium.

Before use, remove the cartridge from its drawer and chill it according to the final product instructions. Once chilled, return it to the drawer beneath the ceramic bowl.

The cartridge absorbs some of the surrounding heat as it gradually returns toward room temperature. The ceramic bowl transfers this cooling effect across its lower surface, helping the water warm more slowly than it would in an ordinary uninsulated bowl.

Dew is not a refrigerator and should not be represented as maintaining one exact temperature for an entire day.

Performance will depend on:

• Initial cartridge temperature

• Initial water temperature

• Amount of water in the bowl

• Room temperature

• Direct sunlight

• Air movement around the bowl

• Frequency of drinking and refilling

Exact cooling duration and temperature claims must be established using the final production cartridge and bowl.

WIDE CERAMIC DRINKING SURFACE

Dew uses a broad ceramic insert rather than a narrow plastic basin.

The gently sloped sides provide open access to the water surface and reduce the need for the cat to place its face inside a deep vessel.

The Warm Ivory satin glaze makes the water level easier to see while creating a smooth food-contact surface that can be removed from the base for cleaning.

The bowl lifts independently, allowing it to be washed without exposing the cooling cartridge or moving the heavier pedestal.

CONCEALED COOLING DRAWER

The cooling cartridge enters through a slim drawer positioned toward the side of the pedestal.

When closed, the drawer sits flush with the sculptural outer wall. It does not remain open during normal use.

The cartridge stays physically separated from the drinking water. Cats cannot reach the sealed cooling medium while the drawer is correctly closed.

A second cartridge may be purchased separately so one can remain chilled while the other is in use.

MATERIALS AND DESIGN

The pedestal is finished in Avernoza’s signature Deep Sage with a tactile matte surface. The removable ceramic bowl uses a contrasting Warm Ivory satin glaze.

The base has been shaped as a low architectural ring rather than a conventional plastic cooling container. Its weight helps reduce movement when the cat drinks.

A concealed silicone ring protects hard flooring and provides additional grip.

The single Avernoza crest is molded into the front surface before glazing, allowing the relief to remain part of the stoneware rather than sitting on top of it.

HOW TO USE

1. Wash and completely dry the ceramic bowl before first use.
2. Remove the cooling cartridge from the side drawer.
3. Chill the cartridge flat according to the supplied instructions.
4. Place the stoneware base on a dry, level surface away from direct sunlight.
5. Return the chilled cartridge to the drawer.
6. Push the drawer completely closed.
7. Install the clean ceramic bowl inside the pedestal.
8. Add fresh, cool drinking water.
9. Check the water regularly and replace it according to your normal hygiene routine.
10. Remove the cartridge when its cooling effect has ended.
11. Dry the cartridge before returning it to the freezer.

CLEANING AND CARE

Remove the ceramic bowl from the base before cleaning.

Wash the bowl with warm water, mild detergent and a soft sponge.

Dishwasher compatibility must be confirmed on the final production packaging.

Wipe the stoneware pedestal and cooling drawer with a soft damp cloth.

Do not immerse the complete pedestal while the cartridge is installed.

Rinse the outside of the sealed cooling cartridge and dry it thoroughly.

Do not puncture, cut, crush, boil or microwave the cartridge.

Do not use abrasive pads, metal brushes or harsh chemical cleaners.

Dry the drawer and surrounding cavity before reinstalling the cartridge.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Dew helps slow temperature change but does not refrigerate water.

Always provide fresh drinking water and replace water that contains food, dust, hair or other contamination.

Do not place ice directly against a cat’s mouth or serve water at an uncomfortably low temperature.

Use only an Avernoza-compatible cooling cartridge with the correct dimensions.

Stop using a cartridge that becomes punctured, swollen, distorted or begins leaking.

The cooling medium is sealed and is not intended for consumption.

Keep damaged cartridge material away from animals and children.

Place the bowl in a shaded indoor area rather than direct sunlight or a hot parked vehicle.
